The Institute of Information and Communication Technologies, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (IICT-BAS), is Bulgaria’s leading research institution in ICT. Within the Section “Modelling and Optimization”, we focus on enhancing decision-making support systems, analyzing complex systems, and optimizing multi-source data.
The Section's research spans artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and intelligent systems. Our work encompasses the evaluation and optimization of large language models, machine-learning-based threat and anomaly detection for industrial control systems and edge infrastructure, and the development of data-driven methods for renewable energy management, wildfire behaviour modelling, and technology-enhanced education.
Scientists from the Section share their knowledge through teaching in a range of universities.
